What Is Car Detailing?

Car detailing is a comprehensive car care process beyond a standard wash. It includes cleaning, polishing, protection, and restoration of your vehicle’s interior and exterior. The goal is to preserve and improve the look and performance of your car, from interior detailing and scuff removal to putting on protective coatings.

Interior:

• Vacuum floors, seats, rear area and headliner.
• Using specific tools, brushes, towels, cleaners and compressed air to thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas of the interior.
• Steam clean fabric and carpet if needed.
• Wipe and clean door jambs.
• Clean all glass, mirrors and navigation screens with dedicated towels and cleaners.
• Final vacuum.

Exterior:

• Hand wash and dry using compressed air and scratch-free microfiber drying towels.
• Tires, wheels and wheel wells cleaned, UV protectant applied to tires.
• Bug and light tar removal.
• Mechanical decontamination of paint surfaces removing road grime and industrial fallout. This step leaves your paint free of contaminants and silky smooth and ready for polish.
• All-in-one polish is applied by machine using foam pads. (This contains a polish to remove light surface scratches and a polymer sealant for protection). You can expect 50-60% of surface scratches removal.
• Exterior glass cleaned with dedicated glass towels.

• Everything in Stage 1 with the addition of a more thorough 2 step machine polishing process to refine the paint and really amp up the gloss followed by a polymer sealant for protection and gloss lasting 4+ months or longer.

Interior Cleaning And Detailing

When evaluating interior work, we first determine the surface and material of what needs to be cleaned. We approach the areas in a “safety first” mentality; meaning we don’t want to proceed until we know what will work without causing undue harm to the surface. For example, we would not want to use a steam machine on the original leather of a 1954 Cadillac, that would be much to severe on a material that old. Through constant and daily research we have found other ways to achieve our results. Depending on the origin of the stain or imperfection, some may not be able to be removed in a safe manner, or at all, and that is when replacement or “live with it” is the best or only option.

We achieve a thorough cleaning by utilizing microfiber and cotton towels, brushes, vacuums, compressed air, steam machines, certain dedicated tools for interior work as well as biodegradable and safe cleaners to restore your interior to close to new as possible. We also offer fabric and leather protection as well. We use no shiny interior dressings, think Armor All, on any part; we believe a nice matte look to your vinyl and leather is superior than a greasy looking, sun reflecting, dust attracting surface. Nicotine residue will incur an additional fee. We don’t think it’s necessary to bullet list every little area that will be cleaned so let’s just cover everything in this statement:

Services include:

• Evaluate the condition to determine the extent of the damage.
• Use different grits of sandpaper to remove imperfections.
• Perform a two-step polishing procedure to restore clarity.
• Apply a UV coating for durability (included only in the Premium option).

*Cost for the service will depend on type of vehicle, extent of damage and desire of results.

**Keep in mind, all imperfections may not be removed, only by evaluating and working with the lenses can it be determined how perfect they may become.

Using steam machines, boars hair brushes, compressed air, specialized tools and knowledge, we clean everything we can reach.

• Polishing Paint: Starts at $50+

If your paint has scratches and has lost its gloss, we can help with that.

• Chrome Work: Starts at $50+ 

This is when you desire specific polishing of chromed surfaces. All chrome is cleaned and protected in the standard detail service. This is when you want to have that extra sizzle!

• Surface Coatings: Start at $400+

Once all dialed in, we recommend and almost insist on a surface coating to protect your bike from the elements as well as ease of maintenance for yourself.

*Given that most bikes are not driven daily, you can expect over 4 years of protection from one properly applied service.

By using specially formulated ph based cleaners, tools, brushes and techniques, we can safely remove the build up of dirt and grime on all areas that accumulates over time. Once cleaned, a mild UV protectant is applied to all leather. A more durable UV application is also offered.
